Sometimes, when I sit down at my computer in the morning, I feel like there is too much information and too many ideas, and I begin to feel frozen as to what to do next. Here is how I process, organize, and move past that sensation.
Check my month planner - I look over the monthly calendar to see if there’s anything I need to be aware of today or this week, and I check my monthly goals. Fortunately, it’s toward the end of the month, and I’ve already accomplished my monthly goal. Also, there’s nothing on the calendar other than a friend’s birthday (send a happy birthday text while I’m thinking about it) and a vet appointment next week.
Check my week planner—I have to plan out this week. This past weekend was a long holiday weekend, and we had friends visiting. This was a much more important event than organizing my planner. I’ll do that now.
Review the past week—I’ll review my notes on the past week and see if there are unfinished tasks. Let’s be honest, there always are! I move these into the new week so they aren’t forgotten.
Add the new input - Now I can scribble down the latest thoughts and ideas that overwhelmed me at the beginning of my day.
Today’s new thoughts and ideas:
Create a list of Pinterest tags based on the audience's insights in the Pinterest analytics.
Impressions growth on Pinterest is beginning to decrease. Find what people are searching for now and see if craftraven fits into any of those categories.
Since I dislike Meta and Instagram, which keep banning craftraven, I must look into BlueSky.
I have product photos I need to take.
I have a month’s worth of pins I need to create.
I have a month’s worth of blog post ideas to develop and start creating.
I started a new sewing project despite continually reminding myself that I have unfinished projects I need to work on.
I have a few new things to add to my Joy Journal.
Now, my brain is clearer and more organized. I can pull up my daily accountability and goal tracking spreadsheets and start my day properly.
How do you move past feeling overwhelmed and frozen by an extensive to-do list? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks and try them for myself!
