June 2025 Wrap-Up

Colorful lupine flowers in shades of pink, purple, and white fill a lush green field. Dense foliage surrounds, evoking a peaceful mood.

June was a little bit different from the previous five months of this year. Having spent six months building craftraven, designing the website, working on blog posts, Pinterest pins, craft projects, shop items, and numerous small details, I realized I had accomplished my 2025 goal. I decided that my goal for June would be to determine how this business would operate on a day-to-day basis.

Could I keep the content coming? Could I balance life and craftraven responsibilities? Could I keep the spark for creating alive to share with you all? Could I do all of this when I no longer needed to drive through to-do lists to push for such a big goal?

What I learned was, yes, I can. It wasn’t as easy for me without the intense rigidity I had imposed upon myself. I did forget things occasionally. I don’t have a month’s worth of content preplanned, written, and created. I didn’t spend my days in isolation to churn out as much work as possible. However, I was able to balance the maintenance of craftraven with creative pursuits and spending time with family and friends.

I drew quite a bit in my sketchbook. I sewed a few things. I spent a handful of days shop-hopping at quilt shops with my Mom and had the best time meeting new creatives with fresh ideas. I soaked up nature, survived a heat wave, and sat listening to the birds’ songs.

One major happening is that I was hired for a job and will begin work in July. It certainly seems to fit the checklist of everything I was looking for, and I appreciate the start date being a bit further out, allowing me to adjust to the idea of a new work-life balance.

Working a full-time job again will slow the growth of craftraven due to the reduced time I can dedicate to it, but I think that’s okay. I never planned for a viral storm of community. I always saw it as a matter of years to build a strong space with significant personal meaning.

I’m working on new items for the shop. I’m waiting for samples to arrive to see if I’m pleased with the printing before adding them to the shop. I also plan to post original artwork and possibly some hand-sewn projects in the future. Variety is the spice of life and all. Oh! I also have customer photos of items to post. That’s on the docket as well.

I do hope you are all well this summer and that you are walking a gentle path toward your wellness. See you in a few days with a new idea for our unfinished projects!
